After much hard labouring, our second special magazine dedicated to teaching programming is on sale now across the world. Unlike the previous "Code It!" special, "You Can Code!" is 100% dedicated to using Linux and other open source technologies to produce projects. To help Windows users make the jump, we've provided a copy of all the source code and pre-installed software development packages on the bundled DVD; Linux users can use that too (it's a VirtualBox disc image), but you may find it easier just to install the software on your favourite distro.
We received a great deal of feedback after the previous coding special, with a lot of people telling us how they would love to buy a Linux-specific programming magazine. At the time we were worried that the market would be too small to survive, but we're giving it a try with You Can Code! - if you were one of the people who wrote in, this is your big chance to prove this magazine has a chance. And if it's successful, we're much more likely to try it again.
As of this issue, our LXF special editions are being released every two months (as opposed to every three months). On the up side, that means more Linuxy goodness for you to get your mitts on. On the down side, it means you have less time to track down a copy before it goes off sale.
So, if you're looking to get stuck in with PHP, Mono, Ruby, Qt, Python, JavaScript, Arduino, XML or even assembly language, get down to your local LXF outlet and pick up a copy today!

I saw several copies in WHS in Aldridge at the weekend. Shifted some other, lesser, magazines that seemed to be obscuring them. ;-)

Got mine from WHS in Brum city centre.
If anyone else is thinking of buying it from there, it's on the very bottom shelf at the back...bring a torch. ;)

BTW, this issue is more in the style of regular LXF as opposed to 'Code It's' fun style. Are the future issues going to be like this or can we have the fun one from time to time. :D
Thanks for helping, Rhakios!

Thanks for helping, Rhakios! :)
External Floppy: the previous design wasn't to everyone's tastes. We preferred it, because it cut out a lot of fluff and focused on making things - we'll measure up all the feedback in a few months and see where to go next.
Will this be in limited

Hello,
I live in Holland.
Where can I buy this special edition of "you can code it" ?
I would love to buy it, but

I would love to buy it, but I can't find a copy near Canterbury for love nor money. I hope that availability issues don't affect the possibility of future LXF Specials on coding for Linux.
Just have to say fantasic

Just have to say fantasic special. On the down side it cost me a new set of glasses as I fell asleep at 3am and snapped them trying to understand and code TroutWarsNG. You should place a warning on the lines of: "Warning Highly Addictive". I now understand the comment about caffeine in your welcome.
Not on sale in Borders but

Not on sale in Borders but will try WHS. Hope its not Windows orientated like last time which was more suitable to a PCPlus publication not Linux Format.
Incidentally I have noticed that all the supermarkets round here are now stocking Linux Format.

Can we buy this as a subscription or add it to our current subscription?

Great concept magazine, just what I have been looking for, but where can I buy it in Norway? I live near Oslo.
It seems like such a focused subject would be better for download or order online.
