                                      It is a legislated requirement of all encryption products produced in the US that a &amp;quot;backdoor&amp;quot; must be enabled for access by the NSA and FBI. That's probably been extended to Homeland Security now with the &amp;quot;war on terror&amp;quot;.&lt;br /&gt;

This is the reason PGP was &amp;quot;smuggled&amp;quot; out of the US printed on a T-shirt, so the code could be used around the world.                                       Duh, why do you think the likes of RIM can continue to sell their 'uncrackable' Blackberries et all in countries that previously threatened to ban their devices as the respective governments couldn't eavesdrop on their, and other, citizens?&lt;br /&gt;

                                      Thought this might be of interest. Probably plenty more examples of back doors which have yet to be leaked. &lt;br /&gt;
