Making a projector sounds fun. DIY:
http://youtu.be/-TDQt4IUDmo

The lens in the second one looks like it would be fun to play with for other projects too
Had a look and checked reviews. Only real issue I can see (apart from the used and still in the auction price tag) is that the projected image isn't particularly bright. Could be a problem when I come to use it in the daytime.

I hope people can help here...

I'm decorating my daughter's room and she wants Spongebob on the walls. I've thought of many different ways to do this, but I thought projecting him and using the image to paint an outline would work best.

I need a cheap projector for this. I know this is a pretty expensive thing to buy and it might be cheaper to hire a professional to paint the thing, but I've often thought of getting a projector anyway and this seems as good an excuse as any.

Problem is budget and payment method. I only have about £130 to spend and it must be by paypal. I can't transfer that to my bank first (I've hit the yearly cap).

What I want: I'm not after something with hi-def and all bells and whistles. I need something reliable that won't explode, blow a bulb or overheat after 5 minutes of usage.

It needs to connect comfortably by that lovely VGA socket I have on my netbook. It need not have a remote, although that'd be nice. I'd far prefer new.

Any ideas? Ta.
