The "keyboards" you buy these days are terrible... I would like a keyboard without the two windows menu keys, but can't get hold of one and though I'd really like one of the old school heavy duty keyboards with spiral cable, I can't afford to pay that much for one.

I am still using not just any old keyboard, but a classic IBM AT keyboard that is at least 20 years old. At that age it does not have a "Windows" key of course

I have about 6 of these keyboards in store. They were thrown out at work when we replaced IBM PS/2 machines with something newer. I cannot understand why everyone except me allowed their AT keyboard to be taken away and replaced by one clearly inferior. - you would think that engineers would know better (ditto the Microsoft mice replaced by dirt-cheap tat). I kept mine, and rescued half a dozen from the skip for good measure. They are pieces of engineering and will last for ever (or until mobo's no longer provide the PS/2 connector). They are superb - although old and used, they now fetch anything up to �100 on ebay.

I have seen them severely criticised as "heavy". So what? It sits on a desk all the time, I do not carry it around.

Another advantage is that the connecting cable can unplug from the keyboard. I have two pc's under my desk with a cable from each. I can just swap plugs to access either PC with the same keyboard.

While it is unfair for manufacturers to lumber us with a windows logo on the super key, it would be just as unfair to put a penguin on it.

So what should the super key have on it so as not to be unfair?
