Avidemux worked great.  The edit took about 3 minutes and the encode only took seconds.  Brilliant.  My daughter watched it yesterday.</description>

                                      You could rip it with whatever you want, then open it in aviDemux. Cut out the offending part and set aviDemux to straight out copy your video and audio. It will just rewrite itself to the drive minus the cut part.</description>

                                      Can anyone recommend a free (I don't pay for software if I can help it!), easy to use video editor?&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
What I need:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
My daughter wants to watch Gremlins.  I have it on DVD and was going to rip to xvid so she can watch it on her netbook.  The problem is there is a scene with a rabbit dissection.  She has a pet rabbit and it will upset her.  Chainsaw wielding monsters, not a problem.  &lt;img src=&quot;images/smiles/icon_lol.gif&quot; alt=&quot;Laughing&quot; border=&quot;0&quot; /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;

I want to simply snip out the scene.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Any ideas what'd make a good program to use?&lt;br /&gt;
