If it works on one Linux distro it will work on any, you just need the right driver. Look at the printer config in Ubuntu to see which driver it is using - https://localhost:631 - then make sure the same driver is installed on your preferred distro.

The desktop environment has no bearing on this.

thank you for your quick reply.
tried that and it dont work, unplugged and put on ubuntu gnome worked straight away. tried other kde distro still no go. so now looking for a printer that works

i cannot get my kodak aio 5200 to work on sabayon 11 kde.
the gutenprint driver are in but it does not ssem to se the printer.

any help wold be aprciated
