Supported RAID Controllers

Hi

Been doing a bit of searching but not coming up with much in the way of supported RAID controllers.

I have one based on the ITE8212 chipset, but searching shows that this has limited success on 2.6.x kernels, and its a bugger to compiles, on anything higher than 2.6.8

So I thought that I would just purchase a supported card. Trouble is not sure what is supported, I think the Promise RAID is, but not too sure about availablity of these.

Using suse 9.3, any suggestions or personal experience with recommended RAID controllers welcome.
