Thanks for the advice, I copied abook.mab across and it worked after I changed the permissions. Thats what I had forgotten to do!
If they're not the same format, there's a Thunderbird plugin called import Mbox which handled the transfer from Kmail to Tbird for me.

But I suspect, in this case, that they're the same format. If they are, then do it the easy way and use Thunderbird's own import tool (under Tools).

Default address book is still called abook.mab
You can usually find it in ~/.thunderbird/<somenumber>.default
- on my system <somenumber> is x7gq57o2

I would imagine they're the same format...

                                      Hi All,

I am trying to move from Mozilla to Thunderbird for email. Import address book has failed. I can find my Mozilla address book (abook.mab) but I cannot find the Thunderbird address book. Assuming they are compatible, where is Thunderbird's address book stored and what is it called? With this information I can move and if neccessary rename the Mozilla address book into Thunderbird.

Thanks.
