Thanks for checking, but MSN, yahoo, lycos and ask have all given it top spot for months, Google is my last challenge!

Nelz, I'm slightly worried that this thread will over take my site though!

Spottedcat, if you're ever in need, use one of the other search engines...
Thanks as ever to everyone - guess I'll have to put it down to general Googleness...

Folks, Yahoo is not a plague! Why nobody uses it in Europe?!

I only use Google now and then, for Google Images.
Yahoo deserves a try.

Working from here, your site comes up top. SSHing into my rootshell.be account it doesn't appear anywhere in the frist three pages (as far as I can tell, my Flemish isn't that good). However, this thread appears at the top of the second page, so you are managing to plug your site

9th down on page 23 - When I checked using from my webserver, hosted by 1and1 somewhere in Germany.

1st on page 1 when I checked from work.

Nope. Still page 11 this morning. That's on 2 different machines and in firefox and konqueror. 'Snot fair! What if I was in Wiltshire and wanted my face painted?

Well, that's splendid then. It seems highly suspicious that my site was down on the 11th page until very recently, when I put google ads on a couple of the pages, then, as if by magic, I'm number one. Thanks again to everyone for their help, and I look forward to staying at the top...

I'm in the UK. I tried it from my home PC as well as via (vpn) another network.
I even tried search from google.com and still got top result.

I did wonder if it was caching, but the fact that DRWS got the same result as my work one seems strange. Anyway, thanks everyone. Beddy time now!

google does offer different links to different people, perhaps even based on IP address, so if your history for your work NAT router is different from your home one.....
I get page 1,item1.

No - I get 2nd link on 11th page. Laptop at home. Google.co.uk and 'pages from the uk'.
