That is no different to a professional photographer, they point the camera and take as many shots as they need to get the "perfect shot".

I gave up guitar many years ago, I watched a concert where John McLoughlin re-tuned his guitar half way through a piece, WITHOUT STOPPING PLAYING.

The next day I watched a freind of mine laying down some finger picking, far faster than I had ever managed.
He had been playing for 3 weeks, I had been struggling to teach myself that piece for 6 months.

I was a middling bass guitarist, a poor rhythm and a terrible lead.

I decided then that guitar was not for me, I gave away my Hohner 6 string acoustic and my Futurama Strat copy (my beautiful Fender bass got smashed in a road accident(sob)).

I made a terrible mistake really, that Hohner would be worth a packet now.

moral: learn your limitations and try something else

Well, I know it's not just for raw files, but that seems to be one of its chief benefits over other Linux offerings. It's a pro tool, while I'm just a hopeless am(ateur).

Actually no.

You'll be pleased to hear that its not just for Raw files.

According to their blurb.

The software also works with standard jpegs, tiffs and dng files.

Lightzone is the software that the folks over at Light Craft have created to compete with other photo editing and viewing suites.

Mac and Window users have to pay up to $250.

But for now, it looks like Linux users are getting it for free.

As one of my link pages says...

"LightZone is a professional photo browser and editor, like Aperture or Lightroom. It's also useful for amateurs, like iPhoto or Picasa. It runs on Linux, Windows, and Mac.

The Linux version is free, as in beer."
