Not if you place it with the joining paper uppermost. Then it can't roll anywhere.

Do you have the same "which way up?" problem with books?

No, no nelz, the one end unrolls, then the other end follows it, until it falls of the shelf and unscrolls itself all over the floor. The only way to get round this is to use the sort of pigeon-holes the ancients used to to store them, so they can't unscroll themselves.
I am pretty good at putting up book shelves, I don't know if I have the will to replace them with pigeon holes.

(Parenthetically, while looking up what Wikipedia has to say about scrolls, I notice it says that the Romans invented the Codex, or bound book. What they mean is that the Romans invented it in Europe, other cultures have discovered the benefits of bound books independently. In fact the text is ambiguous.)

I'm gonna tell ya even worse: I have to work on Christmas and other holidays... But then, I do work in the Public Transport sector here And we're not exactly poor, makes good money, working on national holidays And at night, weekends and all other insane times of the day (like starting a 9 hr shift on 4 AM... )

Blimey, I know people who work in a variety of professions, and most have to work the days between xmas and new year. That includes public sector people who you'd think would be the first to be off around that time.
