                                      IMHO the answer is to get a USB floppy drive - one of those they sell to go with laptops. So you can move it from machine to machine as required on the rare occasions you still need one.&lt;br /&gt;
Assuming, of course, that your new machines are capable of booting from a USB floppy drive...</description>

                                      I built a system without a floppy drive and was quite happy for months, but then I discovered that I needed to update the firmware on my DVD writer, there was a Windows installer (naturally) or a boot floppy provided, now I could have written the boot floppy to a CD, but ... well I'm sure you can see the problem.</description>
