Nope, just a standard Bamboo, I might think about a touch if there is support.

Aldi have been selling them for �40 recently, but I paid more than that .

I have a cheap trust tablet. Doesn't work really. It moves the mouse around but doesn't do anything when you press down or click.

Tried several tutorials, got bored, gave up, put it back in the box. Was only �15 so no loss really.

Interesting. I love my Bamboo tablet, excellent for touching up Photos with GIMP ( I recently bought a slide scanner and I am going through the mountains of negatives in my storage boxes).
I set it up using Mike Hammel's article in LXF, but then I found wacomcpl

According to a post on their mailing list, the new Pen and Touch Bamboos aren't supported yet.

Wacom tablet support has been around for a long time - the latest software is available at The Linux Wacom Project, but check your repositories for "wacom" first. All of the Bamboo USB versions are supported.

Digging deeper, "any operating system" seems to mean "any recent windows or MacOS". I'm sure some enterprising hacker will come up with a Linux driver soon though.

Indeed, with the main keys of the keyboard nicely central. When I first tried using a modern computer with a mouse I thought I could get away with using it right-handed, after all it didn't seem to require too much dexterity (no pun intended). But as soon as I tried with the mouse on the left, I noticed how much less reaching was involved and how much more comfortable it felt overall.
Now I quite fancy one of those Wacom Touch pads, that's be nice if it can be made to work with Linux. And certainly far preferable to an umpteen-button mouse.

Yes, but the k doesn't refer to scribbling or whatever the euphemism referred to

In fact, using the mouse in the left hand makes ohomohok easier, especially when working with spreadsheets (which OOo includes so we're back on topic now) as you have easy access to the numeric keypad.
