LXF 88 is from january 2007.
In version 2 of monodevelop the "Project options" windows changed completely and there is no more a "Runtime option".
In my opinion you now have always .NET 2.0 functionality.
I think you can continue your project without that setting.

Still not read that tutorial.... I guess it's about 3 yrs old, if not older by now.

So that tutorial would be using MonoDevelop 1.x, somethings have changed in MD2+ so just create your solution, once the code opens in the editor, follow the instruction to change the runtime.

If I have time tonight I'll dig out the mag & have a look at this tutorial.

Edit....

Just had a quick look at the archives (only have 98 onwards on my book shelf)

Basically create your project first then alter the run time version.

                                      Thanks Ram for yr reply.

Following the Tutorial and yr suggestion i have clicked:

File > New Solution > C# > Console Project.

I have then named the Solution ...in this case...FileSearcher

Then clicked on.. Forward to create the Solution.

It is at this point in the Tutorial we are told to click on:

Projects > Options > Runtime Options. to change to the .NET 2.0 functionality.

But the only available selections under the Projects drop down menu is Code Metrics.... Export, Generate Makefiles, Create Package and Options are not highlighted and cannot be selected.

I have searched on google and the monodevelop homepage for solutions to this problem but to no avail. I have a feeling the answer is probably something very straight forward...

I'll keep on trying

I've not read that tutorial but if I understand you. You need to start a New Solution as the options are greyed out on the Welcome screen.

Once you've started a New Solution.
Click Project, Solution & Project options will be available. ( Project should change to your New Solution name.)

Expand Build and click General. Runtime version should be visible in the right hand plane.

Currently running Monodevelop 2.0 on Linux Mint 8. Going through the LXF Monodevelop tutorials and have hit a small roadblock with the tutorial from LXF 88. In the tutorial we instructed to click on Project > Options to change the runtime version :
The problem is that the Option banner is not active and therefore changes cannot be made. Anyone know another way of changing the Runtime Options? Or making the Options banner active?

Any advice appreciated as i'm itching to continue with these tutorials.
