Howdy,

Would it not be typical for a MS facility like that to attempt to send a warning email post db freeze...

My isp uses 'mail enable' to handle the email side of their business, which has proved it self to me to be totally 'brain dead' in its' approach.

Now there's a possible thread topic idea ... people could list the weird things that various OS services do. The assumptions they make, configuration limits, the things that make a person feel like their in a Black Adder episode.

(seriously )

At about 1:30 today, my exchange server stopped delivering emails.
After investigation, I found a reference in the event viewer that told me that the database had reached the default limit of 18GB.
After some further investigation, I managed to increase the limit (the upper limit is 75GB), dismount and remount the database, and everything works again.
Except that we have lost 90 minutes worth of emails.
No warning, not even an email to tell me that this was about to happen.
Windows is so much easier to manage than Linux!
