which figures? Per drive or server usage?

The drives I'm looking at are 5.4 watts read/write and 0.4 standby.

So another 16.2 watts or there abouts added onto my server brings it to around 45.2 watts for 1.8TB storage (RAID 5) and a 250GB drive just for the OS (probably don't need this on RAID so much.)

I believe it's between 7 and 17 watts during operation depending on the actual tasks (seek, read or write) and the hard drive model/size. I have seen 30 watts being quoted for Hitachi drives during start up

Just confirmed in its current configuration my server uses 29 watts idle. Once I put a few more drives in I expect that to go up a bit. Not sure what a SATA II drive uses in watts. Maybe 5 watts each?

Yeah this has esata, 4 drive bays and 6 USB sockets.

Similar price I would assume too as I think it was in the �150-200 price range when I was looking at a Revo.

One drive inside, eSATA port and umpteen USB ports. How many do you need? USB and eSATA are still faster than ethernet, so they'll do.

Nice little box. I'd be tempted if I wasn't already using a Revo, with 1.5 TB of external storage, in a similar role.

Bargain in my opinion.

�270 with �100 rebate cheque back (despite it saying cash back, but I'd rather they post it as a cheque then cash).

HP ProLiant MicroServer, 4 bays upto 8TB storage (with 4 2TB drives)
1.3GHz AMD CPU
1GB of RAM
250GB SATA 300 drive included

Rebate runs out Feb 28th, it needs to be invoiced and delivered before then. I paid extra for next day delivery from Ebuyer which was the cheapest place I found to get the server.
