I doubt this event will make any difference as the commercial
SW vendors, these days, already have their wares with DRM
already inserted...

Wasn`t that why Vista was developed in the first place?!?

Happily FOSS is DRM "free" and works on DRM "free" OSs
as well, and often on DRMed OSs too...

It was always going to be.

Pystar made / make copies of Apple's intellectual property, modify it and redistribute it. Regardless of any moral arguments, that is blatant copyright infringement.

I sincerely hope that they get the book thrown at them and that said book is large and heavy enough to cause some serious pain.

Note: I don't like Apple's monopolistic lock-in and control-freak attitude to users of its kit which, in many way, makes Microsoft look like the good guys, but allowing blatant copyright infringement would just cause more software vendors to go down the intrusive DRM route to protecting their IP.
