Here's a tablet actually being exhibited, apparently not like the last one I read about which was just a mock-up running a video loop.
It would be nice if something like this actually got to the stage where one could lay down some hard cash against it. Then again, I'd need some hard cash first.

By the way, do follow the link to the review on the Laptop site and watch the video of the reviewer crashing the car in the racing game as he tries to talk and play at the same time.

Looks a lot like an Archos device, and with only a 5" screen it's not going to be much fun doing a lot of reading on it. Also, it looks like it needs one of those easy-to-lose styli. I already have an N810 which isn't much inferior (and was a lot cheaper).

It looks good, regarding power, but it very much looks like two laptops glued together, the screen/table part is quite large.

I don't want to be a moaner though, I'd have that over an iPad any day.

To be fair, you're not showing the whole thing, see here for a better look. The screen is probably recessed be avoid touching keys on the keyboard when it's folded up.
Still, it does look butt-ugly in it's pad form.

I don't have any lust after the iPad, not after I hear how locked down it is regarding HAVING to use iTunes. However, even I can see that for a touch pad to work, it needs to have no frame for your finger to knock around on. Sheesh

He'd need a bigger blender, I don't think it would fold as easily as an iPad.

Parenthetically, here's some good news for Bazza, he'll be able to use that iPad he's lusting over with Linux.

Or, if he prefers, here's a more open device, though more of a multimedia pad really.

This one comes with Windows but Linux is an option, hardly a web pad really and rather a lot of money just to be able to read in the bath (yes, I know that not the only reason it's waterproof).

Hmm, I looked at the original article for that quote, typical journalese. What it could realistically say is, "Interest in iPad development down a fraction according to one survey". What it ought to say is, "Interest in Andoid app development continues to rise, according survey." But never go with the positive when "bad" news sells better.
In the end, money will talk: if a lot of iPads sell and a lot of apps for it, the developers will follow the money.
