                                      Ive know about apt4rpm for years, just i left suse for debian years ago because of the pain in the backside it was to install one app</description>

                                      apt4rpm is not totally new. It was part of the former Connectiva distribution, and is the standard package manager, with the synaptic frontend, in PCLinuxOS.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The best thing about apt4rpm is that it does make Synaptic available in rpm-distros, which is much easier to operate than having to jump between four separate applets in Mandrake, for example.</description>

                                      There is also and apt on SUSE9.3. It can be found in /etc/alternatives</description>

                                      This may not be news to some of you but it was to me.&lt;br /&gt;

I know a few people who gave up with SuSE because of YaST vs &lt;span style=&quot;font-weight: bold&quot;&gt;apt&lt;/span&gt; issues. Well now there's an &lt;span style=&quot;font-weight: bold&quot;&gt;apt&lt;/span&gt; command for SuSE.&lt;br /&gt;

Actually, it's not quite as good as it looks because it's only a wrapper around RPMs but it does a good job, as far as I can see.&lt;br /&gt;

Debian users won't feel quite so lost on SuSE now.</description>
