                                      DHCP is only useful for printers if you can reserve a particular address.&lt;br /&gt;
This is because printer ports are tied to IP addresses, if the IP address changes, you lose connectivity.</description>

                                      No sure whether this is relevant but I read another thread which said there could be problems if the printer is connected to the network using DCHP and the answer was to configure the printer with a static IP address.</description>

                                      I am running Lucid Lynx 10.04 LTS on a Compaq laptop. The printer is recognized (a Brother HL5370DW) which is connected wireless to a router. The laptop is connected to the network. When I try to print I get a message &amp;quot;Printer not connected?&amp;quot; though it shows the printer in the dialog box. How do I &amp;quot;connect&amp;quot; the printer. It apparently has the latest CUPS driver installed on the system.&lt;br /&gt;
