Have you tried EncFS? http://www.arg0.net/encfs

I use this for backup on Dropbox and Wuala and I have been using it successfully for the last couple of years. It also works on MAC OS X and there has been a recent windows port.
Yes, but I tend to use encrypted filesystems or containers as it's more transparent than encrypting each and every file. What's the problem with Truecrypt and Dropbox (I haven't tried that combination myself)?

I am starting to look into encrypting the files I have on cloud storage, such as dropbox. I don't make extensive use of these services, but I would like to have my files secured for peice of mind. I use TrueCrypt on my work PC (windows 7), making an encrypted container for my personal files, but this isn't ideal for a service like Dropbox. What I would like is the ability to encrypt individual files, then upload them to dropbox in their encrypted state. Cross platform would be a big bonus.

Any pointers on where to start looking? Does anyone else encrypt files?
