Password Gorilla now has static builds available which don't require Tcl/Tk to be installed separately. The same password database can be used in both Linux and Windows, and the format is compatible with Password Safe (version 3 files). Have a look at https://github.com/zdia/gorilla/wiki

Might want to take a look at this as it gives a comparison of a few.

It may not fit your exact needs but Revelation is useful as it allows you to select the type of entry that is stored such as credit card details / phone pin / crypto key / etc... by using custom fields, something I haven't seen in many password managers but which is extremely useful.
Catgate is looking for a simple ¨Floorplan¨ replacement and I recall you referred to just a simple but powerful app that works under linux.

If you still can find it, you would do our mutual friend a favour if you could supply directions.

I use clipperz (www.clipperz.com) It uses the "zero knowledge" approach: data are encrypted locally in the browser and stored on the server as an encrypted blob of data. This means that even if the server gets hacked the data are safe. (It also means that if you forget your login password there is nothing they can do to help you get your data back.)

As it is online I can use it from anywhere with internet access, but it is also possible to save an offline (read-only) version. You can also set up one-time passwords for use in potentially non-secure places, such as internet cafes.

The gamma interface is really sleek https://www.clipperz.com/gamma/ with a very fast search facility.

It's free to use, but as I use it every day, without fail, I decided a while ago to set up a regular donation to the project.

I fully agree with you.

Now I'm using KeePassX in my Linux and Mac computers and MiniKeePass in my iPhone. I share the passwords database using Dropbox. Everything seems to work quite fine.

Probably the integration is not as good as commercial solutions like 1Password. But the use of KeePass has other big advantages (price, multiplatform and open source/Free software) that make it a winning choice. The only thing that I could miss is getting access to my passwords online. I can imagine myself without my computer (travelling, for example) and trying to get any of my password in a hotel PC because I have lost my phone. I will need to check if there is a portable version of KeePass, maybe that could be the solution.

I've not tried LastPass, trusting all my passwords to some random online service doesn't inspire confidence.

KeePassX is being rewritten, mainly by one man, so it will take a while. But that's not an issue for me as it works fine as it is.

Well, the last version available to download in the website is 1.5 years old and a new version is mentioned but it doesn't seem to be any new version planned (yet).

Thanks to show that I'm wrong. I hope that a new version will be ready soon.

One thing I found is that you can import Keepass files to LastPass. So, if I decide that KeePassX doesn't cover my needs moving to another platform is going to be easy.
OK. I'll try KeePassX. The only thing is that it doesn't seem to be in active development.
Thanks for the help!
Another vote for KeePassX on Linux, KeePass on Android and whatever the version is for Windows. KeePassX doesn't need Mono, it's a Qt app. If you don't even want that, there is a CLI version, kpcli.

                                      Hi!

I really need a password manager. Too may password for only one brain...

Do you know any good option? I need that it works on Linux, Mac and iOS. I was thinking about KeePass but it uses Mono and I'd prefer to avoid Mono because it's very very ugly on Macs and the future of Mono doesn't look very bright.

Another option is LastPass but I wonder how safe it is. It looks like the holy grail for a hacker... and that makes me nervous.

I'd like to know your thoughts and suggestions. Thanks!
