                                      So for the Windows dailer do you have to provide a user and password.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Then this is the info needed for NetworkManager. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The comment about usb is for the gnome / kppp dailers.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Here is the solution according to the poster in the artical.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
    Edit the network connection go DSL option and clicked the add option&lt;br /&gt;
    Put the required user name and password and kept the service name blank&lt;br /&gt;
    in PPP setting I removed all authentication option saved and restarted the Ubuntu.&lt;br /&gt;
    Still it was not working then I kept the 'CHAP' option ticked, removed all other and restarted.&lt;br /&gt;
    Still it was not not working then I again tick all the option and it was working.&lt;br /&gt;

It work only the modem and usb connection,but not with ethernet&lt;br /&gt;

                                      Perhaps you should be looking at wvdial, it was what I used before I got ADSL broadband</description>

net is provided by ethernet cable&lt;br /&gt;
no usb modem or router&lt;br /&gt;
dialer was made by the tech guy&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
there are 2 net connections&lt;br /&gt;
1 Broadband Connection&lt;br /&gt;
2 local area connection 2&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
am using win xp right now</description>

Are these connection details for your Windows PC at the same place where you want to use this canle net?&lt;br /&gt;
Who supplies the cable net?&lt;br /&gt;
Is there already a router to which the Windows PC connects - it has an address supplied by DHCP of a form which infers  the presence of a router.</description>
