Devnet (Derrick Devine) is a long-time Linux user who put together the site "Yet Another Linux Blog". His wife was a confirmed Windows user. He got her to test a number of Linux distros as a complete newbie, and you can see the outcome from the March 2005 blog here: http://linux-blog.org/index.php?/archives/2005/03.html. In fact I linked to the tests from this site.

Although not personally in need of a beginners distro, Devnet began to assist with PCLinuxOS effort and has contributed immensely to the New User Guide Wiki. He has now set up a new web site http://mypclinuxos.com aimed at getting more help for this distro, more helpers etc.

Anyway take a look at the new site, if anyone here can do Perl scripts, it would be a great boon. Texstar is great at handling package building but the script writers are under a bit of pressure at the moment.

We all want to keep the distro independent, a community based effort, rather than a corporate one. So if you have any talents even just for spreading the word, you might want to take a look at this site.

It is completely about volunteers. Any money made goes to Texstar to continue the PCLOS effort.
