I agree with you and like that people can post their questions in a single forum here. At linuxquestions.org they have many different forums (basically for each major distro) which makes it quite complex.</description>

                                      How does someone with a problem know whether it is distro-specific? what if you have a problem with FC5 and post it in the FC forum, but the person who knows the exact answer is a SUSE user and doesn't see your question?</description>

                                      I think this has been dealt with before. The general feeling was against it as it tends to wards the &quot;balkanisation&quot; of Linux and ignores the fact that solutions that involve the command-line are mostly common to all distros.</description>
