Well, I've just done it, but I can't figure out how to show you the result, as I can not see any way to add an attachment to a post in this forum. I'll try adding the pic in as a picture, but I suspect it is much too large.
As I thought; too large. How does anyone add a picture to a post from a local drive, or can it only be done with pics by using a remote web URL?
EDIT:
I've just earched the FAQs for the forum and see it must be an image on a publicly accessible server of some sort, which I never use, and have no intention of doing, so that is the end of that, I'm afraid. _________________ Ubuntu 10.04 user, and loving it! |

Many thanks for the pic...
Here's the fantastic pic. Uploaded onto my photobucket account (which I've had for years).
What did you use, btw, for the edit? Photoshop? GIMP?
If anyone else wants a higher res copy of the pic, PM me your email and I'll forward one. _________________ AMD PHENOM II X6, 14 GB DDR3, 500 GB hd, 1GB nVidia card, running Linux Mint 14 KDE / Win 7. Damn thing keeps breaking.

Glad you like it.
I did it in about 5 minutes maximum using GIMP on Ubuntu 10.04. I have been using GIMP for many years going back to my days of Windows XP, and even perhaps Win98, I can't remember. I have always found it to be at least as good as the paid for applications, eg Paint-Shop-Pro, or those I could afford if I had wanted to pay at all, and much more powerful than most of them.
But then I'm probably just an old miser who likes something for nothing, as I also found, and used Open Office in Windows when it first appeared as a free office suite, and have been using it, or LibreOffice, ever since. _________________ Ubuntu 10.04 user, and loving it! |
