|

| I am looking for a netbook to do some writing / editing kind of work using gVim and a bit of browsing. Nothing very processor intensive. I want the netbook to be fanless. Basically I want the thing to be very quiet. Although I am willing to put up with the sound of the hard disk turning, solid-state storage will be the best. Irritatingly, most vendors do not say in the specifications whether the netbook is fanless or fan-cooled. If anybody owns a fanless netbook I will be grateful to know about it. Thanks. |

Lo,
I haven't spent a lot of time with netbooks recently, but the only one I've ever come across that didn't have a fan was the Dell Mini 9:

Don't know if they're still making them now, but you might be able to find one on eBay. I liked the fact that it was totally silent too!

Oh, and it looks like the Dell Inspiron Mini 1018 doesn't have a fan either. Check some reviews first though, to make sure it doesn't have any problems from getting too hot!
