With the December disc I could only see the Live and Install Slackware the other distros were hidden or missing. Any ideas?

Hi,

What issue number? That could be December 2011, or December 2010, or even earlier.

Quite right.
I have had a weird weekend. I think it is coffee psychosis.
Anyone know of a decent alternative that doesn't taste like health food?

I couldn't read the magazine when I posted the message.
LXF 151 Dec 2011.

Ermm.. is time travel really possible and why would they have picked me?

I'll try it again, though I have just had two mugs of Dr WTF is a Tardis?
Whoosh me luck.

Here I go:

Reboot thrusters on.
Check

Long extension lead plugged in
Check

Starter handle inboard this trip
Check

Left note for mam.
Not this trip son

Filled electricity meter
Negative
Abort launch
Abort.

TTFN.

I don't see it in the magazine and I do see it when I opened the mag in my PC.

It only allowed two options: Load or install Mandriva.
3 options if you count the tab selecttion which got me a message I didn't understand.

I should have had other options besides Puppy too; Caine and GParted?
Looking at the disc contents with the Live mandria I have:
f04ec9ef3540be8e50d0a24c512e1309 lupu-5.2.8.iso

I need to wash out this caffeine and get a decent nights sleep.
Urgh.

BTW I like the look of this Distro.
I'll see if I can spare a spare drive for it.

Might put it on my Laptop. You wouldn't believe how much of my hard disc Vista has eaten.
Or maybe you would it is quite famous for being infamous.

If at first you don't succeed, RTFM.
OK.

Puppy
Screenshot Puppy Linux is a special build of Linux meant to make computing easy and fast. Puppy Linux enables you to save money while doing more work, even allowing you to do magic by recovering data from destroyed PCs or by removing malware from Windows. Here's an ISO image you can burn to a CD-R and boot.

Sorry, I really can't understand what you're trying to do. In the Distros/Puppy section of the 151 DVD there's an ISO image of the latest release, for burning to a CD-R and booting. It's on the disc, definitely -- I've just confirmed here.

As for CAINE and GParted, it says in the magazine's disc pages (p126 and 127) that they are provided as ISO images on the disc. It's all documented there.

Yes. I just noticed
My brain hasn't been functioning very well these last few days.

Have you ever heard of the film the lost weekend?

Well I thought I'd found it. Like deja vu, only longer.
