When did Linus start producing a desktop distro? _________________ "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." (Albert Einstein) |

How can any thread that refers to Linus be off topic? _________________ "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." (Albert Einstein) |

If you mean the distro he uses, that is named by those that produce it, it is not up to Linus to give it a name.
Anyway, you've got no more chance of getting people to stop calling it Linux than you have of getting people to stop calling their vacuum cleaner a hoover. The war is lost. _________________ "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." (Albert Einstein) |

True. But who said anything about naming it?

My point entirely. Though I do feel sorry for anybody called Henry Hoover who tries to google themselves. _________________ Cheers,

Would that be a Henry Hoover? At least Numatic have embraced that unchangeable. _________________ "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." (Albert Einstein) |

C'mon people, if Richard Stallman has taught us anything it is to be ever more pedantic in the face of unsurmountable odds.
If you can't beat them, annoy them. |
