I saw "The Cabin in the Woods" last night. I liked it and mentioned it on facebook to a friend of mine. He hadn't heard of it, so I posted a link to a youtube trailer for it. I checked the link and realised the colour was all messed up. People looked like the cast of avatar! Shocked

It seems not all vids are affected. My youtube vids are unaffected, as are some others, but it seems that most of the Hi-Def trailers are.

Some people are of the opinion it's to do with the latest version of flash. I tried disabling it and installing gnash, but I couldn't find it on the FF add-on options.

Any ideas?

****edit****

Here's the link I posted. Hope it helps.

It looks fine here, using the latest version of Flash (11.2.202.233, just released).

I use chrome browser and that link works fine without the need for blooming flash Twisted Evil

Having said that I pasted the address into Firefox and it works fine on there too Wink

Ah, I'm using .228 rather than .233.

Any idea how to force the update?

That depends on what distro you use, and how you installed Flash. I use Debian Testing, and Flash is installed with a package called flashplugin-nonfree. This is a helper package which downloads the latest version of Flash from Adobe and installs it. I uninstalled this package and reinstalled it to get the latest version.

I have just downloaded the flash tar.gz from adobe and extracted the libflashplayer.so from it just to try it out. I then copied this new version 11.2.202.233 to replace the 11.1r102 which had been the last that worked on my machines, and much to my surprise it worked with no problems.

The 11.2.202.228 previously available had not worked at all in my systems.

EDIT:
I spoke too soon. The problem is still there on my main desktop with ATI 9200SE graphics card, so now back to 11.1r102.

Fixed it. Right click on video, select settings and untick "hardware acceleration". Then refresh. Problem solved.

I have a nVidia card. Not sure which one. It's a 1GB one.
