|
|
I need to purchase a new, lightweight laptop that is Linux compatible. I have been looking at the Acer Aspire One 725, which comes with Linpus Linux. Does anyone know if the 725 will work with other Linux versions or has Linpus Linux been tricked out with proprietary drivers?
Some info about the laptop can be found here |

The only Acer kit I've bought with Linpus on has been an Aspire Revo. The first thing almost anyone does after purchasing such a machine is to replace Linpus. I did not see any evidence of any customisation, quite the contrary, the machine worked a lot better with openSUSE (then Xubuntu).
Looking at the hardware spec given in your link one would expect that most of it should work with any recent Linux version. _________________ Bye, Rhakios |

| Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking of using either Salix OS or Debian on the new machine. |
