Having just purchased a CNM Netbook, I am having a problem attempting to get a working connection with my provider - Sky.
The netbook seems to work faultlessly with my friend's BT home network and he showed me how to connect with the Internet.
So, I copied his actions by opening the WiFi prompt and entering my Sky password. The device then appears to connect but fails validate the IP address, at this point my knowledge threshold has been reached.
Help would be much appreciated as the device was bought so that we could travel and not have to take the laptop which seems to connect without issue.
Thank you

Welcome to the Linux Format forums Tim! (FYI: I know Tim from another UK-based forum and referred him here as my knowledge of his ISP is limited (read as: non-existent... ))
The device Tim has purchased is this:

It seems it's a Debian based clone. |

The Netbook needed to be reset with a new WPA netkey number and it meant that my two laptops had to be rest as well.
The Netbook works on my home network but the acid test will be when I take it to another location.
