Hello,
Please advise how do I configure Google to send SMS within the UK, (Like to Manchester from London) from my computer.
I use Ubuntu.

Google sends SMSs ???
Anyway, AFAIK Google doesnt use any client based resources, so if you could do it before from a Windows machine, it will work the same way (provided the same APIs are used, so we are talking java etc) |

The countries that Google claims to support Google SMS do not include the UK (supported operators are here).
There's nothing to stop you having a go tho, try these instructions.

I'm just wondering if google calendar would support sending SMS reminders to people who are subscribed to your calendar? You could rig something up from the calendar api that worked like an sms client. It would be a good way to get your google account closed for abuse though
