Rescatux (LXF166 - Jan 2013 - DVD) fails on load with error:
"This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detected an i686 cpu.
Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU."
I have a DELL Optiplex GX280 that has an Intel Pentium 4.
The computer was originally installed with Windows-XP Professional.
Ununtu 10.04 LTS runs with no problems on this computer with no special drivers required.
I'm trying to recover a hard drive with Fortran (yeah-yeah!!) Fortran code. |

Looks like you only have a 32 bit CPU in that machine. Your trying to install a 64 bit distro. _________________
