|

I've never made use of Skype in the past, but now have a need to do so. I'm looking for a webcam and a handset/headset that will work with Skype under Linux. Anyone have any suggestions for something reasonable (and reasonbly priced)?
Mainly for use on my Lenovo T400 laptop, which currently has Arch, Salix and SalineOS installed.

According to the review, this laptop has a built-in webcam, and I'd be surprised if it didn't also have the microphone etc.
Have you tried Mint on it? _________________ Derek |

Some T400s have webcams, but mine is an ex-corporte model, no webcam fitted, though it does have a mic.

No. I used to run Mint, but moved to Arch as an alternative that suited me better.

| I am very surprised to see such a laptop but as you said yours is an ex-corporate model so this may be happen. In my knowledge of such techno products or in this regard, I suggest you go for webcams and handsets or headsets of Logitech as nowadays all their products are becoming very trendy. For webcam, you can try its HD Pro Webcam C920, HD Webcam C615 or HD Webcam C310 and for handsets/headsets you can go for the same brand. For more details and range of these two products, visit the official site of Logitech - http://www.logitech.com/en-us/home. |

What HP Model Webcam is it that you use?
I'm also looking for a relatively cheap webcam that works with Linux (currently Linux Mint 14). I have already tried two unbranded webcams that work fine in Windows but sadly not in Linux.
Thanks.

Thanks. Sorry to be slow to reply to eveyone - too many things to do....
I think I can afford one of those. And a cheap headset as well. Thanks again.
