As the title says I recently had to buy a new laptop, unfortunitely I did net read the specs, and I have ended up with a Windows 8 laptop,
as of today I have had no joy in removing the said OS.
I need to get rid of windows and install 12.04, is there any way to do this I have googled and tried suggestions but to no avail.
Or am I stuck with this donkey until I can resell.
As always all help, ideas and suggestions greatly appreciated

I found a different model but might work this might work | Code: | To Install a different OS in Windows 8 models Satellite / Satellite Pro L850 Series Laptops:
(1) Shut down the system while pressing the SHIFT key to completely power off.
(2) Power on and press F2 while the TOSHIBA logo is displayed to enter the BIOS Setup Menu.
(3) Go to the Security tab and set the "Secure Boot" setting to "Disabled".
(4) Go to the Advanced tab, enter "System Configuration"and set the Boot Mode to "CSM Boot."
(5) Press F10 to save and exit.
(6) Boot from the DVD/CD-ROM/USB By Pressing the F12 Key (I tap it)
(7) BOOM! Your Done!
Tested The following Operating Systems VIA USB

Confirming that it's likely to be a secure boot problem, and I was the victim of them with another Toshiba laptop just recently, as described here: http://www.dizwell.com/2013/02/12/toshiba-p870-and-fedora-18/
Short version: make sure you generate your Windows 8 rescue media before installing Linux, because chances are (were for me, anyway), you'll have to wipe the entire thing, and you'll have to pay Toshiba for the privilege of replacement media if you trash your Windows 8 partitions, if you didn't generate your rescue media first. |
