Next you'll be telling us Blackpool can't have a pier for the same reason...

Another example of the ignorant, never travelled, never lived away from home (from their parents ThatIs), but think they know it all. I noticed this when I went to Uni. (Teesside '91-'95). A lot of people came through clearing, say from the south coast for example and they just couldn't understand why I didn't know that Buckingham was next to Northampton etc. Why would I know this? But it's the same the other way round too. Southener's thinking they could go to Newcastle or Sunderland for a night out, when Newcastle was (and still is, unless I am very much mistaken) 5o miles or so from Middlesbrough, and Sunderland is even further away. I used to have so much fun getting them to call the Teessider's Geordies, or Makams.... why aye man! Wink 8P

I look forward to visiting Wigan On t'Sea once the glaciers have melted.

Really, I wonder what the difference between a pier and a wharf is?

A pier is someone who makes pies, Wharf is a Klingon in Star Trek. I don't think he makes pies but I could be wrong.

Oh, and before you ask, a quay is what Geordies use to lock their house up when they go out.

Its where they had that thing called Northern Soul.... I can't see why they call it that. Should have been called Southern Soul.

Why did the web developer walk out of the restaurant?
Because he didn't like the <table> layout....

SQL query walks into a restaurant. Goes up to two tables and says "Mind if I join you"?

An int, a char and a string walk into a bar. The int and the char start crudely chatting up the barmaid. "Please forgive my friends", says the string, "they are primitive types".

Two strings walk into a bar, the barman says "What'll it be lads?". The first string says "I'll have a beer pleaseieii0490 23450 )*3u 90590t090". "Please forgive my friend", says the second string, "he isn't null terminated".

A TCP packet walks into a bar & says Id like a beer. Barman replies Youd like a beer? Yes, replies TCP packet,Id like a beer.

A UDP packet walks into a bar. The barman ignores him.
