Just bring it to a place that knows how to repair gadget/electronics and they will be able to fix your phone. But its going to cost you so better to buy a new one.

My sister Doris had a beagle like that.
It used to swing from tree to tree, often with its arms full of bottles of Harvey's Bristol Cheese, but they could never get it to become a missionary.
In the end it it became a Coldstream Gourd.

Not just repair - they cannot even sell you a new battery. I had a Vodaphone of which the battery failed. Vodaphone's website said that Carphone Warehouse were repair agents. So I went to their Bristol Cribbs branch and asked if I could buy a new battery. The salesman looked at the phone and said :

"But this must be more than two years old sir!"

I replied that I was not in the habit of replacing things simply because they were two years old, and asked if he was aware that he was a Vodaphone repair agent. He looked blank. It seems that I had set some kind of record by keeping the same phone for over two years, and consequently hit a boundary (the battery life) which no-one else had ever hit before.

And this is an age in which we are supposed to stop wasting things?

Are you thinking of Coldstream Guard? I believe there is an ointment connection there.

My mobile phone dates from 2006, so that's ancient Rolling Eyes Still works though, despite it having a Win-OS version (shudder) Evil or Very Mad

However, coming next year, I'm considering replacing it, especially as one of my new toys is designed to work via an app (Android/iOS)... Confused

We get new company phones every 2 years.
Besides phone calls, they are used by engineers for our service call software, and manuals.
The salesmen use a web based CRM package on them.
This year was the first time that some of the old ones (nexusS) were re issued.

Previous winphones went on ebay or in the bin.

Have you tried ebay for a battery?
I even got one for a Sharp Zaurus last year.
