Any idea how to easily change this icon to something else?

eeepc 1015PX, 1.66 Ghz Intel atom processor, 2 GB DDR3, 320 GB hd, Mint 14 MATE. Fan needs fixing.

Doesn't right click work? Try messing around in the settings for the panel applets? I don't really know mate, so ...

PS: when you change the (gtk?) themes, the icon changes too

It does change, but I think the icon isn't from the Gartoon set.
