Won't the windows version of X2 work in wine. There is a nocd patch so copy protection isn't an issue and at least theres a large scripting community there so all the things that should have been included have been added by third parties.
Do the scripts for the Windows version work in the Linux one otherwise I'm not sure it would be worth the effort. The genius of it was the work done by the community it was average without it. |

Native is always better than through wine, and as LGP is doing the port, buying it is supporting further Linux ports. Scripts apparently run fine.
FWIW, beta 4 is out now, and beta 3 fixed the framerate issues. _________________ Bloat. The crappiest Perl script in the world? You decide! |

| GMorgan: Dave2 is right; the performance is fine, as long as you have the right machine. We tested beta 3 against Windows and found little difference. Some people reported a number of bugs with beta 3 (and also with beta 4), but it was fine for us. |
