Here is the problem. I have a brand new 200Gb WD SATA disk drive. Great drive except for 1 problem. I can't use enhanced mode on my Asus P4C800-Deluxe mainboard. This means that I can't have all drives running at the same time.
I found a temporary solution to allow me to transfer files from my old disk, running in compatibility mode with the drive (the P-ATA controller with CD drives is disabled but I don''t need them for the transfer). A new problem occured. That is the drives seem to conflict. From the redhat fedora help listings I think I found a solutiuon, change the / drivelabel to the physical partition name (sda4), does anyone know any specific changes to the bootloader I need to make (or better yet, how to sort out the enhanced mode problem) |
