I think this has been dealt with before. The general feeling was against it as it tends to wards the "balkanisation" of Linux and ignores the fact that solutions that involve the command-line are mostly common to all distros. _________________ Bye, Rhakios |

How does someone with a problem know whether it is distro-specific? what if you have a problem with FC5 and post it in the FC forum, but the person who knows the exact answer is a SUSE user and doesn't see your question? _________________ Unix is user-friendly. Just go and look at http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/ It has distro specific forums but IMHO its a terrible mess. _________________ still looking for that door into summer |

I agree with you and like that people can post their questions in a single forum here. At linuxquestions.org they have many different forums (basically for each major distro) which makes it quite complex. |
