I think there may be a number of env variables that may need to be set in your ".profile" or ".bash_profile" to do with kylix. Due to libraries not being in the standard locations. It's been quite a while and i haven't got it installed, but iirc i think thats probably it. It should be in the install docs. You may even have to add a path to your /etc/ld.so.config. It's not nesseccary to include the standard locations in that file ... /lib, /usr/lib, as they default anyway. I can remember having a lot of hope for kylix but i could never get the gui scheme fonts to render more than about 6pt Rolling Eyes .... so, that was that.

Yeah, they do that on purpose too (grin). Really nice in windows though, 'cept for the crashes.

exactly, like when the gui closes and the item still appears in the taskbar.

i managed to find some really silly bugs in borlands code - lol

that gambas is just the ticket, the only thing that confuses me tho ... what language(s) does it accept. his site mentions visual basic and gambas (as a language),

am pretty good with VBscript but have never done vb is it quite similiar ?
