Indeed, I am at a loss as to why one would need a computer application to generate housework: I find it piles up behind me whenever I turn my back.

Ah, there's a difference betwen creating the state of the house and defining the work needed to clean it. A good *nix app does only one thing, but it does it well. 
IMHO this app would be better called "Mother-in-Law."
No, hang on, that would be the integrated suite including "Gardening generator" and "Car cleaning generator" and ...

Or for Debuntu users:
dpkg --purge household-tasks
Always sorts out the problem!

I find that merely having a conscience defines the job on sight. Sadly (?), my conscience is something I haven't been able to do away with.
