| i have a 200GB partition mounted as /media but when i try to write to it i get ACCESS DENIED i have root privilages but now root cant see the files it put there earler . |

Some more details would helpful, particularly your /etc/fstab entry and the output from

mount | grep media
ld -ld /media
|

| just formated and (in root) opened privialges to \media (and hdc8) and i seem to have access at moment |

Should that not be `ls -ld /media`? |

what filesysytem is it ? /etc/fstab would be usefull
