Make an appointment to meet the Chairman of the Council, and go talk to him about it. He (she?) is an elected person, not a dumb jobsworth, or an official on a big screw.
You will be surprised how helpful he (she) can be. They have to be if they are to be re-elected. But do not tell anyone the real reason for your need for the appointment until you get there in person. Just flannel about something. There should be plenty to chose from.
I've had some very good results. _________________ Oh, sod it. |

Definitely worth an idea, I had thought similar about meeting the principal parking officer but an elected official would be much better.
Oddly I had just finished reading this months edition of Bike when the notification came through.
No post tomorrow but there may be a letter from The PPO Mon or tues, if not I'm going to set the wheel rolling on the next step, whatever that may be
Oh and if I do go with the flatbed anyone want photos? _________________ Need a New Signature |

Well I'd definitely like to see it.
If you need to take this further isn't there a motorcycling organisation that you could rope into the fight? |

Well the faltbed is looking more and more likely, the council seem to be stalling now. My partner received a note this morning laccy banded to her bike from a resident of the street we park on (ive censored parts of it with stars jsut in case any kids are reading )
| Quote: |
To whom it may conern can you park your contraption in your own street as you are p***ing off the residents in this street
|
Nice thing to find at 8 in the morning eh? So naturally I have chased up the council again.
Its depressing to look at
http://benscomputer.no-ip.org/IBC-Parking/
and see what percentage of the text is correspondence from em compared to from them.
Life will be so much easier when I take over the world! _________________ Need a New Signature |

So, how exactly is a legally-parked (I hope ) bike p***ing off residents? Does it growl or spout off obscenities at them as they walk past it?
Stupid residents. _________________

A victory for common sense... treasure it, they're few & far between.
Congrats, Ben - it must have been very tempting to get the low-loader in rather than continue politely playing the system. I'm not sure I would have had the patience. |
