I seriously doubt it, the breakfast news were trying to talk it up into a story this morning but they interviewed a few people on the phone who were in the area (Kent - it's in the bottom right hand corner of the country), but they couldn't get very excited about it. Someone described it as being "like a couple of large lorries were driving past". On the world scale of things it's not worth talking about.

Apparently, some people in Essex thought they felt it as well, but I reckon that was some standing waves caused by all the Friday-night bonking going on in Basildon.

"Despite its appearance, the pub was untouched" Smile

The scale goes up exponentially, so 5 is much worse than a 4 compared with a 4 to a 3. Having said that, anyone in the channel tunnel might have suddenly found religion.
It was string enough to knock down brick work, but thankfully it was all relatively minor when compared with other parts of the world.

didn't seismologists ditch the richter scale in the 70s and journalists are the only group of people to keep using it? Surprised
It is logarithmic scale, 6+ would have flattened most of the south east coast

As a Kent ex-pat in Cornwall I was gutted not to have been there - still apparently we get a few down here too...

Yes, I've been through two earthquakes here in Shropshire; soft Southerners. Wink
