Solaris doesn't seem to like my monitor so I can't even install it.  |

I got my copy one week after I ordered it...and it is not OpenSolaris. What I got was the non-OSS version of Solaris 10. Thank you for getting me hooked on Solaris. Now I can develop for both Linux and Solaris.
Of course, hardware support is still a bit lacking, but I did manage to find a driver for the SoundBlaster Live!, but not from Sun. You will need to Google using solaris audio as keywords to find the audio drivers.
Here is the best part, Solaris 10 includes the X.org server, and the xorgconfig tool for configuration of video cards. You can select between Sun's version of the X server and the X.org server. I recommend using the X.org server to ensure compatibility for your video card and monitor. |
