How do I upload my own avatar for the forums here? There is a drop-down list of 'stock' ones, but I see no mechanism in my profile for uploading my own.

you have to upload to somewhere that you have control of, flicr or fotopic or your own website and then point to the url of the picture ie. http://www.some_website/directory/avatar.png I pinched my avatar from the PCPlus forums Wink

How do you point the url to the news image?

All I got is a drop down list to choose an already existing avatar and that field is not editable. ???

eek, there used to be a field where one could put the address of the image but that seems to have disappeared Sad

Am I missing something or am I specially favoured? All I did was to log in and click the "Profile" link and on that page is:

I was going through the "My Account" link under "Main Menu" (left side bar), then "Edit Your Information" and just got the drop down list next to "Your Avatar".

Now I just have to find a place to host my avatar Razz

The one I use on othe forums is 100x100 so I have to create a new one with 60x60.

sort of related i keep getting spam with http:// links in them so i thought i would click on one and it is a dodgy youtube(probably downloads a virus while you are waitng for 'film' to start??)
