A unique combination of tourism and dental treatment

Postby Lauder845 » Wed Feb 27, 2008 3:40 am

Every year, millions of people travel from USA and Europe to India for its tourist destinations. But recently, there is a heavy inflow of foreign tourists to India not only for tourism but also for Dental tourism.

Dental treatments in the west are exorbitant. This is coupled with high medical insurance and health costs and long waits for specialists. India has a number of cities with modern and state-of-the-art medical and dental facilities.

In India, specialists are readily available for consultation and the costs are much lower than in the west. This makes India the hot destination for dental tourism.

Dental tourism is a unique concept that combines the dental treatment and special tourism packages for patients.

Dental procedures may be lengthy and time consuming. This fact can be used to couple some other activity along with ongoing dental treatment. The best option would be to go around and see places nearby.

People from other countries are therefore coming to India for a thorough and affordable dental treatment in cities of their choice and also to enjoy some of the tourist destinations nearby.

Dental clinics in India are offering treatments like surgical extraction of teeth, extraction of impacted wisdom teeth, flap surgery, teeth whitening and other cosmetic dentistry procedures. These procedures are very expensive abroad. In spite of combining tourism packages with dental treatments, the cost works out much cheaper than the dental treatment abroad. This is what drives dental tourism.

Feel free to combine tourism and dental treatment, but don't expect me to look at your holiday snaps :P

Wow, this makes a change from the usual "$100 IPHONE NOW" type spam posts.

In fact, given the expense of private dental care in the UK, coupled with the massively overstretched NHS dental service, perhaps I should leave this up for a bit :-)

Of course it's spam, but spam is, by definition, off-topic, so it belongs here :)

As Mike says, it makes a change from mobile phones or poorly disguised links to web site posing as answers to questions.

Whether it's different to the usual SPAM or not, it's still SPAM and by leaving the links intact aren't you encouraging it? If they get a few clickthroughs from this posting they're likely to think it was a good idea and they'll go on to do more of it in more places. Before you know it they'll be just as bad as the V1agra spammers.

Leave the body text by all means, but at least cripple the links.

Ok, not being in the UK and seeing an ad for dental tourism targeting people in the UK is funny :) I know, cliche, but still funny!
I cannot deny anything that I did not say.

Oddly enough, I'm waiting to get a couple of wisdom teeth out. They're squiggley enough that I'll need to be under general anaesthetic to get the buggers out, so my private dentist, who is Indian, has referred me to the NHS, where I met a British consultant who reckons he can have them whipped out in about twenty minutes (sometime round about Autumn).
